Is it possible to apply a template to a host group in Zabbix?

In Zabbix, templates can be applied directly to hosts, not host groups. When you want to monitor multiple hosts that share similar characteristics or require the same set of items, applications, triggers, and graphs, you can assign a template to each individual host instead of trying to apply it to a host group as a whole. This means that while you can manage hosts through host groups for organizational purposes, the templating process is fundamentally designed to operate at the host level.

Therefore, the concept of applying a template directly to a host group is not supported in Zabbix. Instead, when a template is linked to a host, that host will inherit the configuration defined in the template, which includes items, triggers, and graphs.
